City-Photography is a portfolio of pictures of my hometown, Lyon, with all my favorite places such as the Parc de la TĂȘte d'Or and the Croix-Rousse area.
It is also a preview of my work as a writer and an illustrator.
Since I was a little girl, I always imagined stories. To me, it was like an infinite source of riches, because imagination can take you anywhere in time, and places.
Practically everything around me was a source of inspiration to imagine a story.
In a way, I am just like the character of Catherine from Northanger Abbey, always adding a melodramatic sight to the everyday life, with a less dramatic touch but however phantasmagoric.
Writing is like having a magical power. With a pen, a tiping machine or a computer as a magic wand, ordinary things are turned into extraordinary things, or rather, the magic that was already there and just needed a little help to be perceived is released.
When I graduated and became a computer science engineer, coding was like another form of writing that actually does need a little imagination from time to time to come up with the right solution. However, I describe myself as an author, or simply a person with multiple jobs, because writing stories is something I have always been doing.
My very fist book, Shyamelide, is a tale I am particularly fond of, not only because it is the first book I've published, but because it is a very condensed version of many things I wanted to write about.
It mainly addresses environmental issues, but there are many subjects particularly dear to my heart such as what it feels like when you feel like belonging to a place that you are unable to reach, or how technologies are as necessary as keeping things simple, and how to combine the two.
Can you imagine leaving in a world where you would have to wear a mask whenever you were in the streets, or being part of a world on the verge of disappearing forever unless everyone does their part to preserve it?
For Miss Snail, this is just a part of everyday life, however, with the help of three vege-fairies, things might change for the better.
